# FAQ

* Why plain text? I think it is pretty awesome, although maybe a bit radical these days.  Plain text is universal, minimalistic, and formattable. It is even *better* than markdown (because it is more universal, minimalistic, and arguably as formattable). 
* Why even bother self-hosting a website? Well, I need an https endpoint I can control, for technical reasons. This seemed like the easiest solution. The website is just a side-effect.
* What is the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe, and everything? 42.
